3. "His Voice Remains..."

And now Aurazan came to a bitter realization. This disturbance would never leave him because it was coming from within himself; it was a part of his nature that he had heretofore not known existed. And now that he was aware of this hidden and dark part of himself, he knew his equanimity would never return. He would always be trapped by this mocking voice. Unless he could find some other way out...some other way to find peace.

And so he turned his tremendous power on himself, hurling himself into the walls of the canyon and smashing his physical form into nothingness, into particles smaller than atoms. And yet Aurazan could not ease his suffering by simply ending his physical existence. His voice
remains, immortal,  trapped in the walls of the canyon he created...the enormous split in the earth known today as the Grand Canyon.

When you shout into the Grand Canyon, the echo that returns is both your own voice and the voice of Aurazan. He implores you to understand what he learned too late: the seeds of our destruction are always sown within, and we must learn to live alongside the darkness hidden inside us.
